How To Enable VT (Virtualization Technology) For PC

Virtualization Technology ( VT-x and AMD-V )

First and foremost, VT-X and AMD-V provide the same technology but are produced by two different processor manufacturers. Virtualization technology enables a program running on an operating system to gain complete control of the CPU. If you do not enable VT, emulators such as NOX, Bluestacks, Ryujinx will not run at full speed because they are limited to one core. Furthermore, Virtualization Technology is not available on all CPUs, so you can determine whether your CPU supports this feature.

Intel Utility Program

Intel

For the Intel chipset, install and run the Intel® Processor Identification Utility program. Navigate to the CPU Technologies tab and confirm that Intel(R) Virtualization Technology is enabled under Supporting Advanced Intel Processor Technologies. If the answer is yes, then your CPU support's VT-x.

AMD Utility Program

AMD

For the AMD chipset, download the AMD Virtualization™ Technology and Microsoft® Hyper-V™ System Compatibility Check Utility . It comes as a .zip file, extract it to a folder and run amdvhyperv.exe with administrative privileges. Verify if the results are successful. If it returns a success message, 'This system is compatible with Hyper-V', then your CPU support's AMD-V.

How to enable Virtualization Technology

To enable Virtualization Technology (VT), please follow these steps:

  1. Initiate a restart or power on your PC. As soon as the first logo screen appears, press the F2 or DEL key repeatedly, two or three times, to access the BIOS setup. (Each motherboard may require different keys to access the BIOS. To determine the correct key for your system, please refer to your manufacturer's instructions on how to enter the BIOS.)
  2. Navigate to the Advanced Settings menu. Here, change the Virtualization Technology setting from "Disabled" to "Enabled." (The specific location of this setting may vary between different motherboards. Typically, you can find it under tabs labeled as Advanced BIOS Features, Chipset, or System Security) Open the appropriate tab, locate the VT-x or AMD-V option (depending on your processor), and enable it.
  3. To save your changes, press the F10 key or navigate to the exit and save the changes.
  4. Finally you can exit the BIOS and restart your PC for the changes to take effect.
Please consult your motherboard's user manual for more precise instructions tailored to your specific hardware.

Disable Hyper-V

If Hyper-V is enabled in Windows, you must turn it off. Hyper-V makes use of virtualization technology and will most likely prevent you from running more than one application.

Open CMD ( Command Prompt ) and run it as administrator. Write this dism.exe /online /Disable-Feature: Miscrosoft-Hyper-Vand hit enter to disable this Feauture!

Now, you can restart your computer to take effect the changes.
